Redding Wrestling Club Wins with Cornhole Fundraiser

Redding Wrestling Club Wins with Cornhole Fundraiser. The Redding wrestling club was having money problems. But the club says their cornhole tournament on Sunday helped solve their money issues.

Many people came to Lake Redding Park for the club’s First Annual Max Burch Memorial Cornhole Tournament. There was music, food, drinks, and prizes for the cornhole winners. The head coach, Jet Thomas, says it feels like the whole community came together to provide money for their club.

“I’m just amazed at how many people helped,” he says. “Some people gave us checks for $100, even though they couldn’t attend. It’s really great.”

To honor Max Burch, a well-known wrestling coach in Redding who died last year, Thomas and the Max Burch Foundation gave two $1,000 scholarships to senior students in the club who are going to college.
