Batavia Cornhole Tournament Honors Sgt. Sanfratello

Batavia Cornhole Tournament Honors Sgt. Sanfratello People in Batavia came together for a cornhole tournament called Back the Blue. The tournament was held to support Sgt. Thomas Sanfratello. Members of Sgt. Sanfratello’s family threw the first bags at the tournament.

Mike Borrelli organized the tournament. He works for a company called Corny Fellas Cornhole Company in Hamlin, NY. He hopes the tournament can raise money for a scholarship in Sgt. Sanfratello’s name next year.

Dave Ball had the idea for the tournament to support Sgt. Sanfratello. He talked to Sgt. Sanfratello’s family about it. The teams were divided into three groups based on how much experience they had playing cornhole. The winning teams got cash prizes and trophies.

80 teams played in the tournament on Saturday. It was held at the David McCarthy Memorial Ice Arena on Evans Street in Batavia.
