Remembering ACO Cornhole Legend Chu Farfsing, This honors ACO cornhole players who have passed away, including pioneering pro Chu Farfsing, beloved dad Cortez “Tez” Hudson, supportive coach Damon Cochran, life-of-the-party Gary Alger, friendly coach Christopher Bolton, veteran Ronnie Wray, young father Keith Duke, and legendary road warrior Mike Schaffer Sr. It commemorates their love of cornhole and the ACO community.

Chu Farfsing

Chu Farfsing February 4, 2008 Chu Farfsing was an important early ACO professional player. The ACO Farfsing Cup, given to the winners of the Crew Cup each year at the ACO World Cornhole Championships, honors his legacy.

Cortez “Tez” Hudson

Cortez “Tez” Hudson November 24, 2016 Cortez “Tez” was a loving father and an active ACO player. As an ACO professional, he won the Doubles event at the 9th ACO Worlds. Tez died at age 37 and is buried at Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Damon Cochran

Damon Cochran June 12, 2018 People called Damon many things – Dad, Husband, Son, Brother, Coach – but most knew him as a friend. He really supported the game of cornhole and did a lot to help it grow. He was known for his excited introductions at Finals and his famous tunnels at Finals. Damon strongly supported the ACO as an Official, and he strongly supported all the cornhole players in Las Vegas. His support over the years helped make Las Vegas cornhole what it is today.

Gary “Big Gernie” Wayne Alger

Gary “Big Gernie” Wayne Alger July 19, 2020 Gary lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed playing cornhole and being with friends and family. He was always the life of the party. Gary was an ACO member for many years and one of the first players with the Shenandoah Valley Cornhole group from when it started. Gary loved to travel and attended many ACO World Championships. He was an excellent player who won the ACO Virginia Senior State Title and often finished near the top. He will be remembered forever.

Christopher Scott Bolton

Christopher Scott Bolton January 10, 2021 Known as “BOLTDOG”, he played with the ACO since season 1 alongside Ryan Labelle. Boltdog was friendly to everyone and one of the best coaches in the game. His legacy will live on in the cornhole world and beyond.

Ronnie Wray

Ronnie Wray December 27, 2021 Ronnie was an Air Force veteran and an active ACO player from the Shenandoah Valley Cornhole club in Virginia who loved the sport of cornhole.

Keith Duke

Keith Duke August 7, 2022 Keith was a father, husband, and active ACO player from Arkansas who loved playing cornhole with his son, Justin Duke. Keith co-founded and was a member of 870 Cornhole Nation in Paragould. He died at the young age of 53.

Mike Schaffer, Sr

Mike Schaffer, Sr. November 17, 2022 ACO professional Mike Schaffer won ACO Senior Player of the Season awards for Seasons 13 and 14, and won countless big and small tournaments. He traveled to almost every Major tournament, earning him the “ACO Road Dog” award named after him. He is the only player who has been with the ACO since it began, giving him the title “The Legend.””
