New Cornhole Tournament League Launches in Poughkeepsie, A new cornhole league is starting at the MJN Convention Center in Poughkeepsie on August 8. Not many spots are left to sign up.
The Mid-Hudson Cornhole League will have games every Thursday night. Winners can get cash prizes.
Zeidan Nesheiwat, who runs the center, thinks the league will do well. Many people signed up quickly when they announced it.
The center has new boards and bags ready for players. Cornhole is usually played at home parties. As it got more popular, bars and restaurants started having small contests.
Nesheiwat says the MJN center is a good place for cornhole. It has more space than bars, with 12 game areas. Players can eat in town or get snacks at the center. There will also be music.
The first game is sponsored by Morehead Honda. It offers $1,500 in prizes and free entry for up to 30 teams.
