Monmouth Park Holds First Cornhole Tournament, Aug. 11 Hundreds of New Jersey pros and amateurs alike signed up.

The theme of the event was “Bags, Bands and Beer”. There was a league for real players with money on the line, and one for casual pick-up games with gift cards up as prizes. It all ran with the assistance of local radio station

First prize in each league was $250. The serious league was won by Joe McGuigan and Frank Colabella. THE FUN LEAGUE: Jeffrey Lorenzain won the fun leagueçš„

They really have, said Wendy Price, who helped organize it along the Cliff Walk. She wants to see them go recreational next year having a board available for anyone who just feels like playing some spikeball.

One of the winners, Frank Colabella said that he enjoys playing cornhole because it is entertaining and allows him to meet people
